Important Dates and Deadlines
April 7- Scholarship Application Workshop- in Lab 233 during 2nd, 4th, and 8th period. The scholarship workshop is geared at seniors that plan to attend BRCC next year, but all seniors are welcome to come and use the time complete any scholarship applications they need to. Students are encouraged to sign-up ahead of time and must check in with their teacher before attending. Students can stay for one block or multiple as long as it’s okay with their teachers.
April 8- Reality Town- Reality Town will take place during 1st and 3rd period in the main gym. Sophomores will be participating during these blocks based on their last names.
Students with the last names A-K will participate during 1st period
Students with the last names L-Z will participate during 3rd period

April 14-ASVAB Score Review- A recruiter from the Marines will be available to go over scores with students all day. Students must sign-up for a time in advance. Have students see me for more information.
April 15-BRCC Scholarship Due- BRCC offers close to $300,000 worth of scholarships every year. Some of their scholarships are specifically for Broadway graduates. So far we have only had one student complete their application. Please encourage your BRCC bound seniors to get their application in ASAP.
April 18-American National University Field Trip (Pending Approval)- ANU has invited our students out to take a tour and learn about their programs. They will be providing lunch and there is no charge for students to attend. Students should pick up a permission slip in the counseling center.
April 19-VDOT Transportation Fair- VDOT is hosting a transportation fair at BRCC to display all the types of jobs they offer. The trip is free to students, but students should bring a packed lunch. Permission slips are available in the counseling center and must be returned by April 11th.
April 22, 25, 26, 27- BRCC Placement Test Days- Lab 233 has been reserved all day for students to take their placement test. Students should sign-up ahead of time and are encouraged not to take the English and math placement test on the same days. Test times vary per person. Some students will take an hour while others will take the whole day. April 25 is a Holiday so students who take the test on this day will not miss any classes. A maximum of 20 students can test at a time.

April 28-Deadline to Register for GAR- BRCC will be here on May 5 to register seniors for their fall semester courses. Students must complete their placement test ahead of time to participate.

Broadway High School brought home two state championships on Saturday after competing in the 3A Forensics State Tournament held at Clover Hill High School in Midlothian, VA. Brandon Zweigler finished 4th in Prose, Savannah Horton & Andrea Veramessa earned 3rd place in Serious Duo, Casey Breneman & Margaret Gonyer are State Champions in Humorous Duo, & Brandon Hylton also earned a State Championship in Impromptu. As a team, Broadway High School finished as the State Runner-up. This marks the second straight year, a Broadway High School student earned a state championship in forensics. Last year, Bri Armentrout was the state champion in Impromptu.
Congratulations to 4th year Coach Dan Horton and the entire team!
